Friday Blog Tour of From Head to Tummy
I Love to Read and Review Books Blog Tour Review
"This book is WAY DARLING!
AND. OH. SO. NEEDED.
So many people, including little girls, are looking to the media and what others think to tell them how they should look and what they should eat.
This book teaches sound truths about food, self-esteem, and real beauty.
"Journey with the adorable Ashley as she's faced with life's unavoidable moments that create confusion about food and her body."
"But soon she will discover the truth and find happiness in learning how to listen to her tummy's signals, use tools to deal with social pressures, and focus on her true beauty."
A story so FABULOUSLY TOLD!
A way to see that health is more than what you look like.
Told simply enough for a child to understand, it's a message that is vital for EVERYONE!" -- Shauna Wheelwright

The ladies at Double Decker Books (click to visit their blog) have been doing a remarkable job with my book's promotion services. I actually meet them and their company by attending a facebook party and I won a few free services they provided, which by the way hit at the perfect time to help promote my new book From Head to Tummy.
They could have quickly rushed through my services to just redeem my winnings and move on, which is what I expected, but no, they have went above and beyond to help promote my book and to make sure I have been 100% happy with everything. They have went the extra mile numerous times to help me get the best out of my experience and I have been extremely impressed.
Not only have they done a great job but they have worked efficiently and promptly.
So if you are looking for a promotion group to help get the word out about your next book I highly recommend these fabulous ladies!
If you have time let's give them some love on facebook and twitter @doubled_books !

From Head to Tummy: The Simple Truth about Food, Media Messages, Self-worth and True Beauty
Are you and your daughter ready to meet Ashley?
My next book will be out in two weeks!!!!!!
Give your
daughter the peace and freedom that come from knowing the truth about food,
self-assurance, and real beauty.
It’s never too early
to help your child build a healthy body image.
According to the
National Eating Disorders Association
·
42% of 1st–3rd grade girls want to be thinner
·
81% of 10-year-olds are afraid of
being fat
Your
daughter will journey with the adorable Ashley as she’s faced with life’s
unavoidable moments that create confusion about food and her body. But soon she
will discover the truth and find happiness in learning how to listen to her
tummy’s signals, use tools to deal with social pressures, and focus on her true
beauty.
From Head to Tummy
provides vital tips and assignments for mothers to help build a strong
foundation of worth for themselves and their daughters, as well as help them create a healthy
relationship with food in their families.
Why I wrote From Head to Tummy:
While speaking professionally, I found mother after mother
confiding in me with their concerns, not only for their teens, which my book A Future for Tomorrow helps, but for
their younger, elementary-aged daughters. As society’s confused messages about
dieting and beauty increase, I agree there is a great need to address these
issues for a younger audience. My hope
is that this book will be a tool for parents in helping them build a stronger
foundation of truth for their young girls, giving them a shield of defense when
faced with potentially damaging life situations.
The last push came when one of my best friends came to me for help when her sweet second grade daughter was being called fat and continuously being faced with weight focused bullying. That's right SECOND GRADE! This precious seven year old was being told she couldn't be friends with a girl because she "had too much fat on her body" and then she was forced to run around the perimeter of the school's playground to "burn the fat off." (This will have to be for another post but where do you think this girl learned this negative behavior toward weight? Maybe her mother?) My friend's daughter's situation inspired one of my character's dilemmas in my book. Which later in the book Ashley (and the reader) learn tools of empowerment to deal with this situation. And FYI my friend's beautiful daughter is doing much better and her parents have given her great inner strength to help combat this ugly issue which thankfully has occurred less.
It's perfect for elementary ages, tweens and even teens!!!
